I'm looking for a case that has a screen protector as part of the case itself. Does such a thing exist?

This is exactly what i did. Just buy VPC with dos, then i got win95 (speedy) and windows 2000 for actual compatibilty and productivness. But yes, win2k will install fine on the dos version of VPC. and i'm pretty sure you can install linux distro's for pc on VPC.

hi all.. I recently started using the terminal client rather than the gui client I used before and I notice the terminal seems to take much longer than the gui client to finish 1%.
is this normal or do I just by chance have a very big work unit?
thanks.

I know the expo is only 2 days away... but I have been putting off my purchase for 3 weeks now, so I am preparing to buy this week. I am assuming that there will not be dual core in the bottom 2 PowerMacs! If I am wrong and there is nothing more than a minimal price increase, the answer for me is clearly a dual core.

Here is the unhappy event taking place on my computer. I'm on a site where I can watch movies and TV shows for free. But to watch most of them in the best format, I need to install a plugin. Well the link gives my a textedit form because it's not a download for mac. So I start looking and I have ended up installing the following with no luck getting the movies to work:
-DivX video for Mac
-VLC for Mac
-DivX Converter
I'm kind of at my wits end with this. I've looked all of the internet no luck, but would really enjoy watching movies. So can anyone help me? (Downloaded the DivX from the DivX site and VLC from the VLC site).

Yeah, the googling part I had done and the answer I came up with was the same. :( I was hoping my googling skills were not top notch in this instance.
Next step would be checking the language reference doc:
http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ObjectiveC/Introduction/introObjectiveC.html
Conspicuous by their absence: class variables.

My google maps app has a problem. It will locate me with the blue dot until I zoom out then it shows a completely different city (and it shows the blue locate dot that I'm there?) I've tried a soft and hard reset. Could someone give me some advice please?

btw I got mine on ebay for about $60
I think I managed 80 for mine, brand new :p
But yeah, great speakers, loved the sound (great for when you are wanting non-muzak sources of music in a resturant before it's open :D), my only issue is with the Otterbox defender case I now have, I need one of those dock extensions such as http://www.buyijet.com/index.php/iphone-extenders/iextend-slim.html - thinking of grabbing one next paycheck.

The Remote Messaging part of the Apple's Objective C Programming Language guide has gone. Has Apple (perhaps by stealth) deprecated Objective-C distributed objects? It doesn't look like it's been implemented in iOS, which is a shame. I thought it would be a great communication system between Mac and iOS. Does anyone know of or have any experience with using distribute objects in classic RPC-style client/server projects? I'm just wondering if I should ignore it even for architectural prototypes and just use a "standard" communication system.

Is anyone else having a problem with the keyboard shortcuts in Safari not working after a short period time of using the browser? For some reason my keyboard shortcuts stop working after a while. Nothing I don't have any problems with anything else, just the keyboard shortcuts. A restart of the browser fixes it. Is anyone else seeing this?

1. May depend on the stepping of the CPUs. 5160s have TDP of 80W each which is 15W higher than 5130s. Hard to say but I doubt it will increase much.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll just stick with Netbeans for now. It works pretty well, but has it's quirks. I just like to play with new toys if they have promise.

With football, it is out of baseball season and have time to resod the field. Concerts and boxing matches like this one, they don't have the time.So are they going to resod the field every year now?

I read something about how it's impossible to upload to your computer unless you have a 3.0GHZ processor or better?
Most consumer cameras use AVCHD to encode their footage, which is a highly compressive codec, thus the CPU needs more power to decode the video.
But if you want to edit the footage, you should transcode the video to an editing format anyway, iMovie and FCE/P will do that for you. After that process, the CPU is hardly used during playback.
Other than that, I don't have any recommendation for a consumer camcorder.

MplayerX - I absolutely love the way it looks with the borderless window but I can't seem to get it to work efficiently without skipping and choppiness.. watching a hd mkv over the network and it skips every 2 seconds.. same video files stream perfectly in movist or mplayer extended. Has anyone else had this problem?
Same for me! MPlayerX lags about every ten seconds and "skips" about 2 seconds.. quite annoying (even with non-HD movies)! Quicktime is choppy as well.
VLC does the best job, there are almost no lags using g-draft WiFi.

here you go. You can totes say I did this. Copyright free.
The free work in this forum is some of the best I've ever seen anywhere. I think you'll find most designers here will work their hardest when they do it for nothing.
edit: You should give a shout-out to ɹɐǝqopǝd - he's one of the better designers around. His buttons are tight. Good luck with your assignment.
and, btw, I've tried to view the sample buttons you created...in 3 browsers. They aren't showing up.

i can do $370 for a pretty much brand new iphone. My uncle barely used it and went back to his blackberry as he liked it better. He probably used it for 2 days. No scratches, nothing at all on it, Brand new in mint condition. I packed it back in the box, and has all accessories, as it would come from the store.
It is an 8gb iPhone. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanx
No offense, but at $370 I'd rather just go buy a new one at $399.
