Thanks for the help. The home automation route seems the way to go. Now to find some iPhone/iPad integration apps that go along with them.

If you're downloading several items but want one first (and it's not the active download) you can manually pause all downloads and force resume the one you want. Do this from the XMB.

If so, I think an application can be used on multiple computers at a time. All what they have to do is to enter an iTunes login details each time the application popup's a login window.

Yes, the expected behaviour is that the application can be used on multiple Macs as long as the same iTunes account is used. If you don't want that then don't sell on the Mac App Store.

How many licenses does that include? More than one, I am assuming.

No. It is not the "Home and Student Edition," but the full-blown Office 2008 edition including support for Exchange Server and Automator workflows.

Only one license. The Home and Student Edition still has three licenses as a part of the package, but it's more expensive and does not have the support for Exchange server and Automator workflows.

Of course, you have to be an educator or student to qualify for Home and Student, I believe:

You can get at least a little more screen space by hiding the dock. If you right-click the dashed line to the right of the trash and select Dock Preferences, then check Automatically hide and show the Dock, the dock will drop off the screen when not in use. Then you can increase your browser to fill that extra space.

Has this been independently verified? Sounds like a bug to me. I have the same performance on both ports of my MBP.

I think it's pretty awesome how Microsoft was pushing tablets for ages, to no avail, and then Apple comes along with their tablet and wipes the floor with everyone; pulling in buyers who aren't/weren't even Apple fans before.

After you run Trim The Fat, check out the G4 optimized MPlayer in this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1129727), and you should definitely check out TenFourFox (http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/), a specifically tuned version of Firefox for G3 and G4 Macs. And you should also look into MacTubes (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/28608/mactubes) to play Youtube videos better.

I don't know how much video you'll be able to play on those older Macs, but TenFourFox is an excellent browser for them.

Firstly sorry for annoying anyone in advance as i'm new to the jailbreak stuff.

I'm trying to JB with redsn0w from JB 4.01 to 4.3.2 and it's asking for the .IPSW file. Where is this file?

    I've tried looking in appdata/roaming/apple computer/itunes.......the only folders there are /cookies and /itunes plug-ins.

I'm using windows 7, any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jamie

You must not use WEP. Change the printer if it doesn't support WPA, or connect it by cable.

This is a fictional switch story, based on what could happen in reality.

I have been using PC's since i was two years old. I loved how they worked. That was until Windows XP came out. That disgustingly buggy OS which caught a virus a week, killing off my files like shoppers do to end-of-season sales.

My school computers have always been PC's, and we are using old IBM POS's. Well, lucky for me, i just happened to do what I had always wanted to do.....

My friend and i were discussing our life dreams. His, being shallow, was to Xerox his butt. Mine, being slightly less shallow, was to throw a school computer out a window and see the horrified look on the librarian's face before she screeched.

Well, my friend came into school one day and said "hehe, I accomplished my dream... omg I Xeroxed my BUTT!"
    It was then my turn.

That awful laptop crashed for the fourth time during Word processing, and that's when I'd had just about enough. I picked up the computer in a rage, quickly opened the second story window and tossed it to the concrete floor below.

My librarian had that same look of horror i had pictured, and I just had to catch it on my camera phone. It was brilliant, and i'd post it today, but her face is too horrible to look at. Oh fine, I'll post it:

*censored for your sanity and eyesight, and in case you have a mirror in the room*

Well, you want to know what i told her? I told her that her face looked like the blue screen of death, and that it matched the computer. you know what she said? "I have always wanted to do that, you are my hero!"

Next week, our school got a grant for macs. And my parents bought me an iBook. No more blue screens of death, only the blue screen of aquatic function. How soothing.

I rented it and really liked it. It's really short so paying $60 or even $40 is completely out of the question in my opinion. Once it is a greatest hits game at $20 then there is no reason for anyone not to try it.

It really reminded me of a next-gen Resident Evil 4, even more-so than Resident Evil 5. And believe it or not, this game can actually be kind of scary in some points. The atmosphere is really well-done, but some technical short-comings (especially with the animations) keep Alan Wake from being even in the discussion of game of the year.

Girding for a potential threat from Apple Inc., online DVD rental service Netflix Inc. is lifting its limits on how long most subscribers can watch movies and television shows over high-speed Internet connections.

The Associated Press has learned the change will become effective Monday, on the eve of Apple's widely anticipated move into the movie rental industry. Although Apple hasn't confirmed anything yet, Chief Executive Steve Jobs is expected to make it official during a presentation Tuesday in San Francisco.

Netflix is gearing up for the increased competition by expanding a year-old feature that streams movies over the Internet instead of making customers wait for their online rental requests to be delivered through the mail.

Hey guys, again I have too much junk laying around. Are these still worth anything? The boxes are all unopened, I have a bunch of boxes unopened similar to those, mostly ram and cables and stuff. Does anyone know if people buy this stuff? Or only 80's stuff is collectible? Thanks for any help!

I'd love to see the Tea Party try that. :p Could you imagine the majority leader losing his seat at a time when his party doesn't have the Senate or Presidency? That would be such a huge blow.

And who knows if a teabagger could win in Boehner's district.

I told my parents if they voted for Boehner again, I'd come and burn their house down (kidding of course) a second time. :) They said, "Don't worry, we won't be voting for that guy."

Just file a non-paying bidder report through ebay and wait it out. You'll get your listing fees back, then you can relist the item.

As a seller, you can not leave anything other than positive feedback for a buyer. Ebay made this change quite a while ago. Therefore, just don't bother leaving any feedback at all.

As a fairly prolific seller on ebay (I'm a power seller), this happens all the time. Just file the non-paying bidder report and move on.

Great, thanks for the feedback and advice! I appreciate it.

I also see you're in PA... I'm in Pgh
