Lossless is half the size of uncompressed. AAC is at least 10 times smaller than uncompressed. If you have 8 GB now, expect it to balloon to 65GB using lossless.

First of all, I think your CAPS lock is stuck on, and you'd better fix that, because all caps is generally accetped a yelling around here.
Most people around here use the iTunes Music Store, because they have a huge selection of songs for only 99 cents each. The iTMS is the number one recommendation that you will get here.

If it's because it's charging, call Apple immediately. Don't plug it in any more. You may be dangerously harming the battery and computer.

If you don't see the drive appearing at all in Disk Utility when booted from the install DVD (as opposed to the drive appearing, but with no volume listed under it), there's a very good chance that the hard drive failed. It could theoretically be a different piece of hardware, but that's much less likely. You can also bring up System Profiler, select the Serial ATA section, and see if anything shows up connected to the port.
If you have a USB-SATA converter or toaster-style drive dock laying around, the easy way to confirm would be to remove the hard drive, hook it up to another computer via that, and see if anything shows up. The hard drive is easy enough to pull, and you'll have to do that anyway, so it's an easy experiment to try if you have access to the hardware. If you don't, it's cheap (you can find docks or adapters for around $30), but you'd have to wait for it to show up, so maybe that's not the most efficient option.

Hi,
Before anything..this is my first post. Hi and thank you to everyone that reads.
I`m having a problem with iWeb SEO Tool with one of my sites ( the one that is published via FTP, the other ones are in process, not yet publish). I publish it to a folder, with the purpouse of editing title tag and adding google apps etc, and the publish it via SEO tool. When i look for the publishing folder in my desktop and try to open it with the SEO tool the software crashes.
To see if it was the software i try opening one of my other pages that in not yet published on a FTP and it worked fine.
When i look for the site`s file and open one by one of the files that it let me open inside the publishing file it works but it seem that is managing mi site`s files as independent sites (a world simbols appear besides each site`s page).
If there is something you can do for me let me know please.
Thanks in advance.

Apple claims that a PRAM reset will automatically reset the Power Manager. I've always assumed this Power Manager to be the PMU but I've seen problems not solved with a PRAM reset yet solved with a PMU reset.
How is this so?
Any help is greatly appreciated, as ever. :)

What brands of CPU upgrades are recommended? There are more choices out there than the last time I looked. I would like to stay under $150.

I personally don't see why not. People put links to their websites, mostly blogs and such, and some list Apps they have developed and sell, so I can't see how this is any different than a developer advertising their apps. However, since I am not a mod, I can only hope one answers your thread prior to your listing expiring.
And I would format it so that it isn't vague at all.
Such as -> Mac Pro Nvidia xx60HD graphics card for sale: Ebay listing.
Then just hotlink the words - Ebay listing.

My wife bought me a Spiderpodium last week, and I have to say it's really cool and practical. This tool, from Breffo, is a sort of a gadget holder -- really great to use with iPods, especially for people who love to do certain activities like biking and running on a treadmill. This thing has 8 bendable "legs", and you can wrap four of them around your gadget to hold it in place, and wrap the other 4 around your bike's handle, your treadmill, or any place, to secure it and keep your hands free. Very inexpensive at 20 dollars!

Oh my ...
That's a "DUH" moment - can't believe I forgot about that!
One question related to -- is there any mouse/trackpad movement/app that can "simulate" a tab-press?
BetterTouchTool, you can assign gestures to keyboard commands with it.

Note that bootcamp plugins are not supported for windows 7 64bit. Only 32bit version. So if you want to use your graphics card, your USB-ports, internet etc I advice to install the 32bit-version.
Not true, if you're using a Mac that is supported for Windows 7 64 bit, as listed in the post above, but many other Macs will work in Win64 just fine.
OP, are you using an original disc? Does it mount when you're running the Mac OS?

I've used them, got a 2.93GHz Mac Pro (2009)/4870/6GB RAM/2x Superdrives/Airport/1TB HDD for 2100.00 all factory refurbed and warranted with apple care I got for like 150.00 from somewhere else. Apple wants 2799.00 for the same refurbed unit.

i have a 16gb ipod touch in mint/pristine condition (bestskinsever on the back, invisibleshield on the front) with all original accessories and packaging, including never worn headphones. still under warranty and i will include the original receipt
$315 shipped
this is consistent with the going market rate on ebay right now
Thanks for the offer, but I just got a comparable mint 32gb off the forums for the same price as your 16gb. This is why I set my sites at this price point. Plus..not too interested in eBay..:p
Just wondering if there is a deal out there..otherwise, I'll purchase one new with the software updates.

I doubt you actually need to sync the entire drive, isn't it more likely you just need to sync home folders?
In any case, I recommend Chronosync. It isn't automatic, but it works great and allows you to sync 'folders' between machines on a network. I use it to sync basic documents between my two machines.
