:rolleyes:I gave you one possible solution. If you don't like it, that's not my problem. Why don't you learn to use the search function since you're not getting the answer you want?

Here's a slightly larger version (not applicable to the contest).
Ahh, now that I see the larger version, I place my final bet on Knights of the Old Republic on Tatooine.

The newer 2.7GHz i5 is going to be faster than last year's 2.8GHz due to more aggressive Turbo Boost (3.7GHz vs. 3.33GHz). Plus the new model is more energy efficient (65 Watts vs. 95 Watts).
The new GPU should be slightly better, but I am not the most knowledgeable person on this subject. Last year's 5750 (actually a 5850m) ranks 49 on Notebook Check while new 6770m ranks 44.
I believe you will want to upgrade RAM third-party (too expensive from Apple) as that will reduce time working with large Photoshop projects and the process of upgrading RAM can be done in a few minutes.
There are some Photoshop benchmarks here (http://eshop.macsales.com/Reviews/Framework.cfm?page=/Benchmarks/CS5BenchmarkPage-iMac.html); which indicate that if you upgrade RAM to 12GB (~$100) or 16GB (~$200), you can cut time down from 9.6 minutes to right around 5 minutes.
Overall, I believe the new model is better and offers Thunderbolt (for fast external storage when they become available), plus a number of other improvements. I hope this helps.

I have the amp connected to the headphone jack. Works fine for me and the cable didn't cost $33. :-)
You didn't connect it via a toslink with optical cable from headphone jack? Sounds like you're just double amping which is inefficient.

I'm brand new to animation. I want a program that I can easily create a visual for story lines with characters without the hassle/knowdledge of how to create characters/environment from scratch.
I read that Poser 2010 Pro has a large library of characters environments compared to Poser 8. The price tag is expensive and want to check on anyone's experience with the two or some other program. Thanks in advance.
Did I post this in the right forum?

Laptop GPU's aren't really widely available for sale like desktop GPUs, if you do find one get ready to pay a steep price as they are intended to be replacements for defective/broken parts in gaming laptops.

I am not sure if this is the place to post this. But here is goes.
I am going to japan to study in january. I am on a hunt for luggage and a rugged carry on. I would like it to be able to hold my 12" ibook and its accessories, which is pretty much the power adapter and maybe an extra battery. It needs to hold my ipod and whatever i bring with it. I would like it to be able to carry at least 3 midsize books. This will be my carry-on as well as my everyday walk around bag. So i'd like it to be light and relatively portable(i.e. not bulky and akward to carry). I would also like it to have some color. I have seem way too many black bags out there.
This last one is a maybe: If possible i'd like it to be able to hold a Rebel XT with battery grip as well as walkaround lens. This is not mandatory but would be nice.
I have looked at booq bags and they have some nice stuff but no color.
Thanks in advance.

I've done some research, and it appears that DisplayOut is the best option for mirroring software and Resupported4 is best for using generic cables. However, one last thing that I cannot find is which cable to get. There was a thread a while back with eBay links, but those listing have long expired. Can anybody recommend a good, cheap generic cable for this purpose?

Connected my monitor to my Mac Mini and this is what I get:
OVER SIZE
RECOMMAND MODE
1280X1024
I have a flat-screen Princeton LCD monitor and using minidisplay to vga adapter.
Is my monitor too old? It's my friend's old one he gave to me, and he said he bought it when flat screen LCD models were still a "new thing."

I am also interested in this, thinking about buying this drive or the V100 128GB (or the V+100 128GB).
Any comments would be very appreciated.:p

Hi everyone first post :)
here goes,
I had windows 7 installed on my macbook runing osx leopard
I used bootcamp to install it, last week I wanted to remove windows as I was not using it and it was eating up storage space
I opened bootcamp and removed windows successfully however it is defaulting to the windows and displaying a message "no bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
i do not have a windows partition, to start up mac i need to hold alt on start up and select the mac partition.
any ideas? i done a search on the forum but did not see anything on this topic.
thanks

I have Fusion 3 (via bootcamp) and housemate has Parallels (don't know what version). He wasn't happy with Parallels, but It also has gone through a number of revisions since. All the reviews say they are pretty much neck and neck for performance. It's just a choice of preference in the interface.

I'm wonder how much a week 25 iphone is worth. I got it the first week it came out. It shipped with firmware 1.0.0, but has 1.1.3 on it right now. Phone is in excellent condition.
