Have you called Apple about a replacement? I'd keep it personally.
Just to let everyone know, I am referring to the horizontal lines that are present in all 15" PB screens.

This is the second one of these I found in the woods behind my house.
They are semi-soft, and look like they might be an egg of some type, though at first I thought they were man-made because of the perfect seam that runs around the center.
ANyone have any idea what this is?

Gee I wonder how many would be sold if they weren't purposely crippling the supply lines to retailers and holding back finished consoles?

Unfortunately, this has led to a lot of catalog mining. Previous-gen PS2 and Xbox games like Ubisofts "Blazing Angels" and "Prince of Persia" were gussied up with Wii Remote controls and then shoved out the door to capitalize on the systems momentum.
This is my major fear about the Wii. But...
After Ubisoft, Electronic Arts is the next major third-party developer to redirect resources to the Wii. Not only has the gaming giant set up Wii-dedicated development teams, but within the last month, EA has released no fewer than three Wii titles: "SSX Blur," "The Godfather: Blackhand Edition," and "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07."
...this brings a little promise, even if it is EA and EA is the devil. :p

Sweetwater has excellent customer service, but I've never bought an actual guitar from them. If there's something particular your friend is looking for, they can often deal / match prices if you talk to them.
Sweetwater is excellent. I bought a Valley Arts instrument from them. Great service and the guitar came well packed and in perfect condition.
I received some unpacked electron tubes from Musicians Friend once; never will I buy anything fragile from them again!

IS THE WHOLE WORLD CRAZY!!!!!
(why would you ever want to do that in a million years)
Well, the Apple Keyboard I find very, very nice. And I think that the Apple mouse is one of the most comfortable out there (I think other companies try TOO hard to make their mice ergonomically-sound and fail in the process, while Apple's simple design is best). The problem is not having right click functionality, which is much more manageable on a Mac than on a PC.
Thus, I can understand your shock at someone wanting to us the Apple mouse, but am utterly confused as to it with respect to the Apple keyboard...Unless you're just floored that anyone would want to use a PC in the first place, which is a little bit more understandable. ;)

When he said BLUERAY everyone thought that in that minute Steve will announce the Blueray integration to the product line.
If you see the keynote in that moment the crowd makes some noise.

Turning brightness all the way down does not turn off the notebook's internal display. All it does is it turns off the backlight but the screen is still on. You can confirm this by pointing a flashlight to the screen: you can still see the images there.
It has always been this way, and my best guess is that it will be in Lion as well.
ok :/ Please implement this Apple. The laptops will run much cooler when using an external screen
I just installed Lion and testet it, the trick in Snow Leopard dont work anymore and the fan speed was around 4000-6200RPM and 70c when just switching spaces. The cpu usage was about 30-50%. I tested just with the internal screen on and the cpu usage was about 0-2% and the fan speed 2000RPM. WTF Apple! Fix this ASAP.
SwichResX do the job in SL but that program using to much CPU... Well, its better than 30-50 % cpu
...The magnet trick still work

Per specifics, I can't help.
But, I can suggest their website forums that have tons of info, as I recently got an interface that is Digidesign and uses the current PTLE 8.
try digidesign/avid's faqs or forums. I am positive similar ?'s have been posted, maybe even sticked over there.
Also, gearslutz is a GREAT forum with tons of specific info.
Best of luck:)
Excellent, thank you.

The Remote Messaging part of the Apple's Objective C Programming Language guide has gone. Has Apple (perhaps by stealth) deprecated Objective-C distributed objects? It doesn't look like it's been implemented in iOS, which is a shame. I thought it would be a great communication system between Mac and iOS. Does anyone know of or have any experience with using distribute objects in classic RPC-style client/server projects? I'm just wondering if I should ignore it even for architectural prototypes and just use a "standard" communication system.

This has nothing to do with the intent of the post but I was there today earlier and was fed up with false information by two Mac Specialists.
It shouldn't stop you from going there though. That said, don't forget that the store is still partially under construction and I'd expect it to be more chaotic than other stores because of the space available.;)

Hi
I am thinking about getting a new GPU for my Mac Pro (Early 2008).
I run Windows 7 64bit all the time.
I plan to take out the old 8800GT and keep it safe until needed.
I am thinking about getting either a Gigabyte 460 SOC (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-460-soc-review) or a Gigabyte 560 Ti SOC (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-gtx-560-ti-soc-review).
It has to be Nvidia and these seem like great value for money.
I have brought a spare Mac PCI-Express power cable (http://www.welovemacs.com/9227128.html) and now have a total of two.
The reviews at Guru3d suggests that the max power needed is about 350 watts for both the 460 (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-460-soc-review/7) and the 560 (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-gtx-560-ti-soc-review) - or am I reading it incorrectly?!
I think I read somewhere that the Mac Pro (Early 2008) would output a total of 300 watt PCI power.
