Normally Cocoa is not programmed directly in terms of events, but instead in terms of actions sent to targets.

For example, instead of trying to code for the mouse down event on a button, you'd normally set the button's action and target so the button sends a particular action message to a particular target object when it's clicked.

Or maybe I'm being too literal with the terminology you're using in your question.

Can you tell us more about what your trying to do?

Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, you can't change the order in the Library. In playlists you can because they are a "Play-List", so you can set the list of songs.

Nothing you can do about it.

How safe it is to install Apps on MBP downloaded from a torrent website? I mean can I download iWork or Photoshop for example without having problems with Apple and Adobe?
No, it's not safe due to trojans installed in pirated software. Also, we don't discuss software piracy on this site.

That doesn't sound like a kernel panic if you were able to type at a prompt; it was most likely booting into the firmware...thats one place you don't want to be messing around unless you really know what you're doing...its like the BIOS of a pc

I prefer the wet apply method myself. Allows me to slip it around for better alignment. Avoids fingerprints (trick is to wet not only the guard...but your fingers). And no bubbles.

Regarding the subject line, can this be done? The windows 98 computer is hard wired to the router and the printer, and the iBook is wireless. The router does not have any sort of print server. Can you print from the iBook to the printer straight up? Or would something like an aiport express need to be involved?

the answer is yes you can. i just searched the forums for a little bit, most of the instruction out there is for windows xp/2000. That means you can either google for instruction. The easiest way is to get a printer server. It doesn't have to be an airport express it can be a dlink or linksys etc as long as they support appletalk which I believe they both do. With a printer server, setup time will shorter (in theory) and once you retire you windows 98 computer your'll still be able to print from your iBook. online support for windows 98 i believe will stop around June maybe longer. There isn't security fixes or patches coming out for that operating system anyways. You put your computer and data at risk just having windows 98 on there because of the worm/virus threat.

Hi everyone... I have a new-ish macbook running snow leopard.... i used to use a windows computer too so i partitioned my 1TB external hard drive, 450gb NTFS and 550GB FAT32. and then soon after stopped using windows all together. I use the FAT32 to play films on my ps3..

Now i have completely filled up my FAT32 partition, and need to re format my NTFS partition to FAT32 so i can start using that too..... i haven't got a spare hard drive to put all of the data on, and there isnt enough space to temporarily store it on my mac.

All i need to know basically is if you can format separate partitions of an external hard drive without losing the data on the other partition and how to do it!! im too scared to just try it because this would obviously cause great great frustration if i were to lose 6 months worth of downloads and stuff! :(

thanks in advance for your help!

    Gary :o

Delicious Library will definitely print the library, but you may not have any options of what gets printed (Artist, Title, etc.). You can also copy and paste data from iTunes into a spreadsheet, and work with it there before being printed.

Make a copy of the iLife CD?

Edit: Ah sorry you mentioned they are inside Tiger CD. Well, I don't know, I wouldn't like to open up the Mac and see that it doesn't have many of the programs I'd expect it to have. Perhaps someone you know has an iLife CD? I think it's preferible to sell it with the latest OS though.

Anyone know how to get the best quality feed from my Mac's Nvidia GT120 into a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card in a PC?

Just adapting DVI > HDMI and going into the Blackmagic's HDMI in does not work because the Blackmagic apparently only supports "broadcast resolutions" (I called them and asked).

What's the best way to split a feed out of my Mac that is either a broadcast resolution or the best way to convert a computer resolution (much more than broadcast) to one that can go into the Intensity Pro?

I have been running two displays on my unibody Mini since mid-June 2010.

One monitor is a 23" HP connected via DVI (I think? -- doesn't matter, though)
The other is a 26" Samsung LED TV connected via HDMI.

They've been running perfectly until today.

At first, the TV didn't even detect anything hooked up into the HDMI port. Then I turned off my mini, unplugged everything, plugged it all back in and now the TV acknowledges that something is plugged into the HDMI port, but it says that there is no signal.

I have tried different HDMI cables and also tried plugging them into different ports.

The cables and ports on the TV do work, because I tested them using my xbox 360.

I also went to System Preferences and Displays and asked it to detect displays and it only detected my monitor.

And now.. actually, my monitor keeps flicking to a blue screen (which it used to do when I turned the TV on in order to watch something from the Mini).

Any help or insight would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

And sorry about the long-winded post; I wanted to include all the information I could.

EDIT: Just ran the hardware test and it says there were no problems found. I'm not sure if it would be the video card, since the regular monitor is working (relatively) fine.

Come on, it sounds like talking as a defeated man

I'm sure there is something good in Mac, otherwise, I'll start to dont believe the extra $500 I paid compare to a PC.

You just need to insert your Snow Leopard install disc to install the drivers for your hardware. Everything should be groovy after you do that.

This should work, but I have not done it without running the bootcamp assistant

both those are for physical CDs and really won't catalog your iTunes.
The first one also looks to be PC only.

It seems like you had a issues with transferring the files. besides for finding what songs are on the computer I don't see any real use for this situation, and that can be done in iTunes.

Perfect work around for no AAC support (protected and 'open') on Tivo. Great Job by the author. Yeah, I had a little issue with getting it to work, but that was firewall related and me not doing the right thing (reading a readme file.... who needs one, right?), but it seems stable!!

iOS 4.3.3 is better than 4.3.2 for me in regards to battery life. I've even re-JB my iP4, and the battery life has remained pretty decent so far...

    Sharp unveils glass-based CPU prototype
    [digitimes.com] 11:07

Sharp on October 22 unveiled a prototype of an 8-bit, 2.5MHz, glass-based central processing unit (CPU). Jointly working with Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (SEL), the company has successfully formed microprocessor circuitry on glass 15mm square and 1mm thick by employing its continuous grain silicon (CGS) technology.

Sharp hopes its invention will pave the way to development of ultra-thin sheet computers and TVs. The company expects to have some products, like games machines or mobile phones, equipped with this type of glass-based CPU, available by 2005.

Sharp currently uses CGS technology to produce system LCDs, LCD panels with built-in driver IC circuits.Shih-wei Kao
