thank you romad7,
is that app available in all countries and how much does it cost?
I'm gonna be using ipad just for simple tasks in cpanel; horde email, simple coding like you said. so with that app this will work fine?
i'm really stuck between delicious decisions =)

it depends on what kind of wifi networks youre consistently on.
if you're using public or semi-public wifi networks, then you should probably change your root password.
OR
you can install SBSettings and keep the SSH toggle off and only turn it on when needed, which is what i do. keep in mind that every time you restart it will automatically turn SSH access back on, which is a safety measure in the case something gets corrupted.
Thanks for the reply!
I hadn't noticed that there's a SSH toggle in SBSetting. I'll turn that off for now.
Also MobileTerminal doesn't seem to work on iOS 4. So I'll have to wait anyway.
Thanks for your help!

In PhotoShop, have you tried just creating the document with a very low resolution, say like 15ppi, instead of the usual 72? Then you can use the pencil tool to easily just fill in a pixel at a time.
I apologize though, I don't know of any other programs to do that. I'm sure something exists, though.

The app is $10(USD), not sure about different countries, it is only in English if that means anything. I access cPanel for my provider through Safari on iPad. The app will only allow you to access the actual files on the server and edit the text (HTML, php, CSS, etc). So you won't get the more advanced functions of dedicated programs such as Dreamweaver.
If that sounds good then you could get an iPad for simple tasks and a MBP or MBA for your advanced editing. Plus, the iPad 2 is just so cool! I love being able to do so much on an ultra portable device and still have my MBP for the heavy lifting backup while on the road.

Yes, if you're willing to spend $199 (139 in the UK):
Just take it in to an Apple store and ask for an out of warranty service replacement and they'll swap it out for a refurb for those prices I mentioned above. It will also get the balance of any warranty and / or applecare, it won't affect your contract eligibility and you won't have to renew your contract

Hmm. Although this is for setting up with a wireless MM and/or keyboard, see if this helps. Good luck and keep us posted.
While you are in Windows.
1) Switch off the device you want to pair
2) Select "add a device" in the Bluetooth menu
3) Switch on the device (after few second it should get detected by windows)
4) Now, right click on the device and select properties. You should now get a window with the different services.
5) select the HID drivers for keyboard and mice and click OK (this is the important part)
6a) In windows 7 it should setup mouse and keyboard without any additional input.
I found that cure posted by S_ Eye at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2057008&start=0&tstart=0

Very good question, I really liked it....I still call it the "Apple button" out of habit, plus then anyone using the machine knows with a quick.
I guess it makes keyboards more universal, but who really cares? If someone is running Linux or Windows on a Mac, I'm sure they can figure out what they Apple button equals in Windows)
But not a huge issue at the end of the day

Sure, but if I were you I'd save myself the hassle and buy myself a $7 USB enclosure from Amazon and dual boot. Lion's too buggy to be used as the primary OS, IMO.
thanks.. tried yesterday, and I can only agree... It's way to buggy to use for everyday.. I ended up formating my snow leopard installation after that, a newly formatted mac is a good mac :D

You want to to play upscaled or you eant it to reencode upscaled?
Both. Mainly playing, but also reencode.
As for playing I would think VLC is technically better because you have dozens of scaling and display options. BUt it all depends on just how much you're upscaling... if you're trying to make 320x240 look like 720p you're going to be disappointed.
Can you explain me those settings? What to choose for best quality in up scaling and display?

If this one laptop absolutely must last you till then I would wait. But if you could sell the iBook you would get now to put towards a Rev. B or C intel, then do that.

Out of town and need to find somewhere to pick up the iPhone on launch day. I'm thinking of the local Walmart, but I haven't heard anything about Walmart's launch day supply. Don't want to waste my time. Perhaps AT&T is the safer bet, but who knows what their supply looks like for waiters.
Anyone local that can help?

I meet one person after another who thinks iTunes Store tracks are sourced from CDs. But to me this doesn't make any sense because for the amount of tracks available on the store, the number that become newly available regularly... it would take an army.
I was always under the impression that Apple sourced the tracks digitally from the labels, and encoded to AAC from sources that were almost certainly higher up the ladder than CD quality (ie; studio master)
Does anybody know for sure what the lineage of Store songs is?
Thanks.
Im pretty sure Apple gets sent the studio master audio (uncompressed raw audio) and then they compress it to the required format - thats why iTunes Plus had so many tracks available at launch, Apple probably handles the encoding.
