I am not sure what kind of PB you have but if it is 12" then you are maxed out (I think) I know that the 15" and 17" can have 2GB. Now if you have a 15/17" and want to max it out to gain speed I would not worry about it unless you are doing lots of RAM intensive things... If you are a TRUE multitasker and always have tonnes of things open then maybe it would be good. But what I would suggest is to open activity monitor over the next week and monitor RAM usage as well as page-outs to your hard drive to see if you are low on RAM. And remember that inactive RAM to OSX is just like free RAM so don't worry if most of your little pie chart is blue! If you are not low on RAM then adding more will give you no increase in speed. Hey guys,
I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to Mac repair. I did alot of PC tower work back in the day but I've recently been working on a MacPro tower for my student run TV station on campus.
Basically I plugged the machine in and before pressing any button it will click, the light will turn on simultaneously and it won't respond to the button being clicked. Also when I pull the power out it will click as it did when I plug it in.
So I figured this was some sort of power supply issue. After spending hours trying to find the right tool to get the heat sink off I pulled the power supply out. I looked in through the vent holes and it looked as if some sort of grey plastic had melted all over the internals. This was the second power supply for this unit and I found the first unit had the same grey matter inside but not in the same places.
Do you guys think it's worth my time to drop the money to get a new power supply or am I dealing with a bigger issue?

Get a quality dry apply protector like SGP, PS or Switcheasy. Zagg and the other wet films Suck.

Do you have a CF reader?
If you do:
Put card in
open it up on your desktop
drag and drop all contents to your internal hard drive
drag and drop to your external
This will give you 2 complete copies of your raw
If you don't:
transfer footage with the utility to your internal
Then drag and drop all media onto external
This will also give you 2 copies of your raw
Transcode raw only on the drive you are working with. If you need to relink to your backup later, you will have to transcode that when the time comes. But I would keep my backup as 100% raw original files.
NOTE: Don't ever change file names when you import. Use log notes for labeling. If you rename anything and your normal copy gets screwed, it will be a major PITA to relink with your media with the backup.
NOTE2: You should never work off your internal drive so I would technically replace the word "internal" above to "other external device".

Hey, my family bought an Infiniti G20 (1999) and it hasn't been the best car. This is a thread about your good, or bad experiences with Infinitis:

Great effect, and the mirroring works really well. If I could suggest any improvements, it would be to bump up the contrast a bit more, but it's certainly not a criticism at all.
It would be interesting to try building up layers to make more complex patterns as well.

In her account is her iTunes library, which has grown tremendously over the last few years. We download songs from iTunes (or rip them from CDs) into my account, then copy them to her account, so that any song on "her side" is also on my side. Since her account has gotten so big, I figured it would be easier and save a lot of space if I made a playlist for her in my iTunes account and synced her iPod to that.
Here's my question: is there an easy way to create a playlist based on the music in her library. I'd hate to have to create the playlist and go back and forth between accounts to see which songs to drag into the new playlist (she has about 3,000 songs).

Another thing you could do would be to cut out some frames. You don't need such a long progression of numbers; we get the idea. The best part is the crash screen at the end. So speed up the number sequence and you should be able to get it down to 30 k.

A friend of mine just got her brand new iBook 900. The problem is, the cd seems to malfunction. It ejects just fine if there is no cd inside, but with a cd pressing the eject button makes it choke, trying over and over again to do the eject procedure but without managing to open it.
If you have an iBook, try this to get an illustration of the problem: Put your finger over the cd tray door holding it shut. Then press eject. The computer will try to eject again and again with a clicking sound.
She finally managed to dig in her fingernails and forcibly open it. That worked. Repeating the experiment apparently yielded the same results.
Anyone experienced this? Before I get her computer shipped away to be fixed, I wanted to get some opinions here to see if it maybe could be easily mended.

Just enabling the php5 library to load in Apache is not enough. You also need to tell Apache what to do with any .php file that is served to the user.
Check your apache config file to see if this code is in there - perhaps it is commented out ?

Sorry to disappoint you, but "wake with trackpad" will not be possible in Lion anymore (at least, it's not meant to be). Why? Simply because the new iTunes screen saver's functions require trackpad interaction.
