Hi, that's a nice idea but I have a few questions/feedback..
If I stumbled upon the site I'm not sure I would know what it was for - a more detailed explanation would be useful.
How would you "police" this? Clearly this is professionals looking for other professionals to do work. How do you propose people get paid for their work? Or is it supposed to be free?
I'm not sure the forum format is the bast way to go - how about just a "post my project" type thing? Check out somewhere like crowdSpring to get an idea of what I mean (but without the spec work)

Ahh I see. So the minimum size that any file in OS X can be is 4 KiB (4*2^10 bytes) regardless of how little data it contains?Nah, the file is whatever size it is, ie. smaller, but it uses up a full 4KB "spot" on the disk.

I know I installed it correctly from the CD. I don't know if I should install updates bec my Macbook OS is 10.6.4.
It's getting frustrating because there are documents/photos that I need to scan. When I run the HP Scan software, turn the scanner on and put a picture and press SCAN on the dialogue box, it just says PREPARING TO SCAN and it goes on and on and on and never shows my image/document.
I already tried uninstalling and re-installing the software but still get the same result. Why is it always saying PREPARING TO SCAN and does not communicate with my device? Please help me :-) Thank you!

After much waiting thinking of whether to take the plunge with new iMac i7 for AVCHD video editing. Should I also take the plunge with FCE4 or is iMovie 11 able to native import AVCHD, or will need a AVCHD M2TS converter to prevent having massive 10GB+ video files created by iMovie
Thoughts and suggestions ?
I am interested in this, too. I have been editing AVCHD files in iMovie '11 and am looking for some other way as the files are huge and importing the files takes a while. I think it's because iMovie has to convert everything into .mov files.
I got a Nikon D5100 to shoot video with and hope that those files will be easier to work with and import into iMovie '11.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a place to investigate various PDA's as a friend of mine's mother want to buy her son one (he's 29 :) )but knows nothing about them, so she asked me but it's not something I really know too much about either.
He's a pc user so mac compatability isn't really needed.
Any help would be appreciated as most of the site's I've found are useless.
Thanks

Make sure you right-click it after copying all the items you want to burn into it. There's the "Burn folder to the disc" menu entry hidden somewhere over there :)

Is my video card supported ?
atMonitor uses Apple's own framework for accessing GPU sensors, so it will support only those video cards that Apple itself supports. If Apple's own "OpenGL Monitor" does not show you the correct information, neither will atMonitor.
----
Personally I've never seen atMonitor's GPU monitor work, it always showed 0%.

Since it's only a nicer front-end to the burning software built into the system (like the Disk Utility or Burn Folders are) - yes. It all just works.

Actually XP on Mactel is quite likely to happen, won't be supported by Apple -- because that type of phone support is quite costly.
Likely Apple will work closely with MS to make sure it happens, and any Windows support needed will be paid for by the user.
---
OS X on all PCs means Apple is competing directly with MS, and that is a deadly place to be.
As long as Apple tries to make sure it doesn't happen, MS will likely not lob the nuclear lawyer on Apple.
---
If you want OS X, buy a Mac ...
If you like the Mactels, buy a Mac and run Windows.
Apple will increase their sales base and become one of the fastest growing PC makers soon, but not bear any costs associated with supporting Windows.

Whatever tech you spoke to was clueless or was mistakenly thinking about JB and software unlock.
Like people said once a phone is factory unlocked it will never lock again and will accept any GSM sim.
Thanx for the good info, AJuiced. :D
I'm about to take a vacation w/a stopover in Canada -- and some friends want a factory unlocked iPhone.
Maybe I'll pick up one or two and sell them. Factory unlocked White versions seem to be fetching a slight premium ATM; but I'm not sure how long that will last.

I googled how to enable PHP for snow leopard, but I cannot figure this out. I am trying to uncomment the php line of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf, but I get an 'MacOS Error -5000' when trying to save the file in TextWrangler. I looked up the error code and it said that I do not have permission to edit the file. However, I am the only user account on this Mac and I am an admin. How do I save this file? Thanks.

But they say "G4+" which means they don't have any plans to stop working with apple right away, as G# is a name that Apple gives, not motorolla. But will Apple use them all the way to 3ghz or beyond? If not how slow is moto gonna have to advance to get dropped? I am not seeing a real great processor in Apples future (If they adopt the 970 they might pull ahead eventually, but they will only be equal at the start), but Apple really needs some great product if they want to keep alive.
That PDF doesnt say anything we already know. Apple is gonna make one or two more revisions with Moto's chip on the PowerMac. The rest of Apple's lineup will continue to use them for another year or two.

It is very unlike Apple to have any non-Apple logos on their devices. When they started using Intel chips, they never had an "Intel Inside" sticker. They also never had an AT&T logo on their iPhones and do not have Verizon logo on their newer iPhones.
Thankful for that! I just find the plastering of stickers and logos, typical of PC and linux boxes, very distasteful.
I agree!!

I'm quite upset about this;
When I opened up my revB imac for the first time, I was overjoyed to see that the craftsman ship that made my unit so shiny outside was actually followed all the way through to the end; making the middle of the unit clean and tidy with the gorgeous "G5" metal housing for the processor and such.
With this, it looks like a small bomb has combusted in the middle of the unit. If this is the style apple is now adopting I do not look forward to the next couple of years...are we going to be faced with the horror of cables randomly linked and tied to things to save a buck?

I'm not sure about the Mac speech pronunciation.
you CAN go to m-w.com, look it up, and see how they pronounce it.

I also did this.
One of the dumbest thing ever.
It was on 4.01 and sold it to friend who wanted it clean.
I did the all reset on the phone and it got stuck.
So am I screwed ?? Only way to get the phone is to restore it to the latest firmware ??
Anyway other options I have ???
