Somewhere in the preferences menu, under identity, enter your MR screen name at "e-mail or name" and 3446 at "team number". :)
You don't need to have the same identity as your MacRumors name (although it would make sense).

Sweet!! :D :D I guess I have OCD...I usually stick to the intended burning speed just for the same reason you won't push it...cost and having to end up with coasters! I hear you on those crazy prices.
Yeah, I want DL media prices to drop. But I'm sure once that happens, the MPAA will step in and complain, because the DL media makes it so much easier to copy movies. Rip, and burn the VIDEO_TS folder with Toast. None of that time consuming encoding. Not that that's what I did with the DL media I bought ;) But the higher prices of DL media, plus a movie rental, makes it almost the same price to just buy the actual DVD. Get DL prices down to a buck or two, and I think Blockbuster's business will boom

Your Powerbook should have come with a hardware test CD. I would pop that in and give it a whirl. Should tell you if there's anything seriously wrong with your computer.
Cool, thanks alot! I'll give it a try. :)

So I have had my iPod Touch 1g for a long time now. the back is getting pretty scratched up and i was wondering if there are any snap on cases just for the back, much like all of the ones for the 2g. i think those are pretty cool and I am wondering if anyone knows about any company who is still making them for the 1g or any alternatives to snap on backs (I dont want a whole case). Thanks!

So for some reason my site keeps loading slowly, and I know it's not my ISP. I just upgraded last week from 3mbps to 12mbps (don't ask why it hadn't been done years ago) and I really don't see a speed difference, it just seems slow, no idea why. However when I run speed tests it shows the results. Anyways my site is loading slow and not just for me at my house but for all people who go to it, any ideas or fixes? Also the use a site CMS Made Simple for all of my web files, has any used it? Struggling to update my files and gain ftp access using FileZilla.
Thanks guys, I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this area.

I have TCF Bank, which a quick google search will yield what complete ********* they are. I've had my share of problems with them over the years and have every intention of dumping them like a hot potato the minute I'm back in America.
For the last three years, I've wired money home for my student loan, etc. It's all I use the account for--no extraneous sloppy spending.
For the last month there has been a residual, positive balance from paying last month's bills. Haven't used the account since, everything's long been posted. It's pretty simple--send home money, when it posts, pay bills.
I sent home money a few days ago. It posted. I paid my bills online, and am waiting for them to post.
I logged on just now to check on them, and see that TCF has now decided to screw with the balance, so it will be $500+ negative once everything conveniently come in, and then they will hit me with NSF fees. Thinking what the hell is this, I looked back at the maximum history on my account (1 year), and now they show that as far back as that the account has had tons of times where it's been negative, which is not the case.
So they've screwed with the account balance, manipulating it so it's massively negative so they can screw me. Two days ago I had a positive balance with everything posted.
Has anyone else's acct. shown similar strange activity the last couple days? I dread calling them because they absolutely, positively, are NEVER wrong.

Perfect work around for no AAC support (protected and 'open') on Tivo. Great Job by the author. Yeah, I had a little issue with getting it to work, but that was firewall related and me not doing the right thing (reading a readme file.... who needs one, right?), but it seems stable!!

BF1942 on the PC, I assume? You can't call that playable at all on a Mac because it's still a PPC only game.
UT2K4 is really your only option if you're talking about playing a game on a Mac.

don't worry about the custom option, simply type in the width and height you want for your new document, the app will then realise that this is a custom size.

hey all,
*i am* not actually selling this on MR, but a friend of mine wanted to know what a fair asking price for this would be. given it's two years old and its battery life is not what it used to be, what would a good price be? i figured my smart mac friends would know, even though this IS MR lol. thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I'm having a strange issue getting my Apple Wireless Keyboard to run on my new HTPC under Windows 7 (64 bit). I can get Windows' bluetooth manager to detect the keyboard, and I can input the pairing code, following which Windows seems to install a bunch of drivers, but then I get no response from the keyboard at all.
The thing I find strange is that the keyboard works when I punch in the code numbers, but never before or after.
I also have a Magic Mouse which works perfectly.
Once paired and installed, the keyboard is displayed in Windows' driver manager as a "Bluetooth Peripheral Device", so I'm wondering if the issue is that Windows isn't recognising the device as a keyboard.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks heaps, in advance.

I recommend that adapter (it's from IDE&ATA[and some others] to USB 2.0). It's good for quick transfers of data from bare hard drives and you can always use it again in the future. Quite a useful gadget to have lying around.

The new iMacs use at least these CPUs:
i5 (Intel Core™ i5-2400 Processor ) and i7 (Intel Core™ i7-2600 Processor)
The i5 Desktop CPUs are quad core and have one thread per core.
The i7s are quad core two, but have two threads per core.
Maybe this can help: http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyID=42912&MarketSegment=DT
And here are some benchmarks: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sandy-bridge-core-i7-2600k-core-i5-2500k,2833.html

Does CS3 have bridge? I can't quite remember.
Yes, it does, although it was a resource hog. Although I use it at home for freelance work, I've found that in some studios in the UK, it's not widely used, with some preferring to drop a lot of PDFs or images onto Preview, of all things instead, because it's so fast.
Working with Bridge in the 'approved' manner in an entirely CS-based workflow takes some getting your head around it when you've been used to working with a workflow that's been based on QuarkXpress practices.
Anyway, not sure what's wrong with funter's eps; I hope we find out at some point.

We had about 10,000photos when our iPhoto library became too unstable to use with confidence.
We looked at Lightroom and Aperture before finally deciding on Lightroom.
We've been happy and not looked back. We only put our top 1% of photos into iPhoto for easy uploading to Facebook/mobileme gallery etc.
I suggest using MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) to search for threads about "lightroom or aperture", but most people end up saying that you can download both for 30days trials and then decide. But make sure you have plenty of time to play before you decide.
here are a few:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1020439

and also via google

Enjoy researching!
Can you give me the Reader's Digest story of why you chose Lightroom over Aperture?
